National Volunteer Week – Mary

April 21, 2012

April 15th 2012 – April 21st 2012 is National Volunteer Week! Volunteer Week is a time to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the hard and important work of our dedicated volunteers. We hope you’ve enjoyed this series of volunteer profiles, and that it’s encouraged you to go out and work for something that you believe in. In Other Words wouldn’t exist without the tremendous support we receive from people just like you. Thank you, volunteers!

I volunteer at In Other Words because it’s a place to have my voice heard and validated, and a space to interact with and make community with a myriad of people. Working with this organization makes me believe that we can shape a better and more equal world, even if it’s one tiny step at a time.

Mary Walsh, volunteer at In Other Words, coordinator of IOW events programming

There is always room for more volunteers! Sign up to volunteer by going to our website at inotherwords.org/volunteer, or drop us a line at volunteer@inotherwords.org with any questions.
