Reel Feminism: The Gleaners and I

September 18, 2013

Reel Feminism Banner

Our film for September is the French documentary, The Gleaners and I.

Both a diary and a kind of extended essay on poverty, thrift and the curious place of scavenging in French history and culture–a documentary capturing the world of French gleaners who collect and make use of what others have discarded.

Rotten Tomatoes (They liked it)

Come down to the Clinton Street Theatre on Wednesday, September 25th at 7pm for a screening of The Gleaners and I with discussion to follow. Admission is $5-10, with anything over $5 going directly to support In Other Words.

For more information, RSVP on Facebook and join the In Other Words presents: Reel Feminism group.
