Reel Feminism is evolving!

October 26, 2014

As you know, In Other Words is currently experiencing a significant transition in terms of volunteer/board leadership; we’re in the ongoing self examination process and want to make responsible choices in terms of our capacity as a volunteer-run organization and making sure we don’t bite off more than we can chew. We are focusing our energies on (re)building our volunteer leadership capacity, our volunteer board leadership capacity, and our internal processes. Part of this (re)focus includes examining a way to keep our SE Portland Clinton Street Theater feminist film screening communities engaged and excited amidst a shortage of volunteers.

Our IOW point people for Reel Feminism are collaborating with our feminist sisters at POW-Fest for Reel Feminism to make the smooth transition over to POW-Fest’s amazing volunteer leadership; the only immediate change will be that the volunteers managing the selection and promotion of film screenings will be POW Fest volunteers. We look forward to seeing you at the October screening of Reel Feminism for the last In Other Words-hosted screening! Moving forward, we are looking forward to welcoming you at the November screening for the first POW-Fest-hosted screening.  Please follow the Facebook group for more information! #FeministSisterhood
