Board of Directors meetings: November & December 2014

November 18, 2014

In Other Words Feminist Community Center has been a flurry of activity recently, as we come together as a feminist community to grow In Other Words in to the brave compassionate feminist community organizing space we all want and desire.  We’ve been engaging in an ongoing reflective community-building and peacebuilding process that includes increasing the capacity of our board of directors.

As with all 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, In Other Words Feminist Community Center has a board of directors.  Typically, the board of directors holds a monthly meeting on the third Thursday of each month, which is open for public comment.

However, this month, November 2014, there will be a pre-planned private board retreat on November 24th, rather than the usually-scheduled public board meeting.  There is a growing list of agenda items that the board will be working on during the retreat, but if you would like to suggest possible agenda items, please email your suggestion to board[at]inotherwords[dot]org with the subject line “suggestion for board retreat”.  The purpose of the board retreat is to continue our critical capacity-building work with our board of directors, in order to more fully embody our mission to support, enrich, and empower feminist communities through literature, art, and educational and cultural events.  Thank you so much for your continued support of our feminist communities; looking forward to seeing you all at the December board meeting.

The board of directors at In Other Words Feminist Community Center consists entirely of volunteers.  To inquire about open positions on the board, please send an email to humanresources[at]inotherwords[dot]org.

P.S. Want a chance to informally meet and network with the In Other Words board of directors, volunteers, and other members of our feminist communities? Save the date for our fourth annual Holiday Open House!
