The next In Other Words feminist inclusivity meeting

November 30, 2014

As you know, the new board of directors at In Other Words has engaged in an accountability process in order to work towards intentional community-building and inclusivity at In Other Words in light of recent issues related (unacceptable) TERF behavior.

This is the next meeting in a series of feminist community gatherings that are part of a larger transparency/accountability process that the In Other Words board of directors is taking in light of recent issues related to transmisogyny, transphobia and improving inclusivity at In Other Words for marginalized and oppressed community members.

The December meeting will be on Sunday, December 7th from 6PM – 8PM.  This meeting will not take place at In Other Words Feminist Community Center, but will rather be located in an off-location site, at the Quaker Friends Meeting House 4312 SE Stark St Portland OR, as part of this intentional process to foster a neutral space for accountable & safe discussion and community-building.

This meeting is open to trans/nonbinary people, and the In Other Words board of directors and volunteers, as a way to build an intentional space of dialogue, accountability, peace-building, community-building, and forward motion.  Twenty-three-person occupancy capacity.

In Other Words Feminist Community Center is an entirely volunteer-run feminist non-profit.

Please send any clarifying questions or comments to board@inotherwords.org

Is this open to trans & nonbinary members of the community at large?

Lynn– Yes! Please come and participate in this collective feminist community building process. For those who are not currently patrons of IOW, we would love your opinion on how we can improve and grow. We hope to develop the space so that all feminists want to visit the store, join an event and/or volunteer in the future!

So it’s ok to spread the word to other trans people then, right?
